In the Talmud, Lilith is described as a demon with a female face, long hair and wings, who can possess a lonely sleeping man by influencing his imagination.
In Jewish life, the hairy and winged Lilith is especially known as the pest of childbirth. It was believed that she not only casts a spell on babies, but also kidnaps them, drinks the blood of newborns, sucks the marrow out of bones and replaces them.

"Nosferatu. Symphony of Horror" by director Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau. The film went down in history as the first screen adaptation of the novel "Dracula". "Nosferatu" was the first to use the plot motif of a vampire dying from sunlight.

London After Midnight was the first American horror film featuring a vampire, starring Lon Chaney. To create the character, Chaney wore two sets of dentures, one made of real shark teeth and one made of wood.
1927
One of the most significant vampire films was the 1931 adaptation of Dracula, starring Bela Lugosi as Dracula. The image of Count Dracula in this film became canonical. In 2000, the film, as having great artistic significance, was included in the US National Film Registry.
1931
"The Last Man on Earth" is the first screen adaptation of Richard Matheson’s famous novel "I Am Legend", which played a major role in the development of vampire cinema and zombie horror. The film is the first to examine vampirism outside of a mystical context.

1977
Martin director George Romero turned the vampire plot into a psychological drama in which the central character is the monster himself. No romanticization of the vampire image, only its deconstruction.

For Blade, Dracula is his sworn enemy. Over the course of their long existence on the pages of comics, they have crossed paths a huge number of times.
Louis goes to great lengths in the hope of finding death, but chance brings him together with a real vampire from the Old World named Lestat, who turns Louis into one of his own kind.

In Greek mythology, Selene is the goddess of the moon. Screenwriter Kevin Grevioux was inspired by the supervillain Selene Gallio from Marvel Comics, where she was a psychic vampire.
Len Wiseman, making his directorial debut, chose to shoot many scenes live, without the use of CGI.

All the actors playing vampires had to hang upside down for up to thirty minutes at a time while being made up.
The film marked Dunst's first on-screen kiss with Pitt, despite the 18-year age difference between them.
